DAY 2: From Deuteronomy 1:31-33

My soul finds rest in You alone; my salvation comes from You. Today and each day, I place my trust in You.
When I was in the desert; I said “where is my God?” But looking back, I see how You, the Lord, carried me. As a father carries his child, you went all the way with me until we reached this place.
Remind me, O Lord - though sometimes I don’t see you, though sometimes I am confused, though sometimes I want to go ahead of you on this journey, though sometimes I make my own way – Remind me that you are there in fire by night and in cloud by day, to lead me and to show me the way I should go.

(Pause)

Our souls find rest in You alone; our salvation comes from You. Today and each day, we place our trust in You.
(End with a period of Silence. Trusting that God is present)

What a reminder that you go ahead of us and fight for us. Remind us of the things you have done in our past, so that we have greater trust in you now and in the future.

I love that God points out to us even when we don't trust him, he's still there guiding. Even when I have convinced myself I'm in control of something, He's still guiding. What it has become for me is a process of trusting more and more, little by little. Something happens, I stop trusting, things in a situation go wrong somewhere along the way, then I'm crying out to God, and I realize He hasn't gone anywhere, it was me that moved. I see this, and I try to remember it, and I slowly begin to trust, just a little more.

How many times have I done that? I run ahead of God, making my own plans and then when I'm in trouble I say, "Where are you God?". My prayer today is to realize that God has gone ahead of me and He has the details of my life worked out for me before I even start to worry about them.
